Backing up your GroupWise system is a very important part of day-to-day administration of your messaging system. Hopefully you won’t ever have to restore a component of your system. In the event you do need to, having a reliable, restorable backup is crucial. Due to the fact that e-mail systems typically have open files all the time (GroupWise normally holds the domain database open if you have gateways present in your system), you are presented with the challenge of how to get a restorable backup that includes those open files.
