Chapter 18 Monitoring Your GroupWise System Through GroupWise Monitor
All GroupWise 7 agents and gateways have an HTTP-monitoring functionality. GroupWise Monitor takes your system beyond HTTP monitoring. Although HTTP monitoring of agents and gateways is a powerful tool, and some features are available only through HTTP monitoring, there is no alert mechanism. With GroupWise Monitor, you can be alerted to problems without having to stare at a computer screen, waiting to see whether a problem is happening.
The GroupWise Monitor Components
The GroupWise Monitor software has two separate components. They are the GroupWise Monitor Agent and the GroupWise Monitor Application. Here are some details about both of these components.
