Soundness goes one step further and also requires that the
premises are true. So, soundness involves both validity and
truth, whereas validity only addresses the logical structure.

The main features of validity are as follows:
A Validity is ‘binary’ in nature:
An argument is
either valid or invalid, there is no degree in between
the two. There are ‘no intermediaries’ between valid
and invalid arguments.
The validity offers the benefits of developing concep-
tual foundation, clarity in logical structure and pro-
gressive learning from one stage to another in deduc-
