Interface tier design

Abstract

This chapter shows how to design a web interface for an information system using the Interaction Flow Modeling Language (IFML). Initially, the information view components of IFML are presented. They are used in connection with the design class diagram to manage the presentation of information. The integration of view components and flows into containers such as pages and areas are presented as well as some interface design patterns. Operation components may also be used in connection with view components to bind system operations to views. The chapter concludes with the presentation of a complete CRUD interface modeled in IFML and a high-level design for a system use case.
