Why Mess with the Male Competitive Model?
In the winter of 2005–2006 Lehman Brothers, the global investment banking and financial services firm, launched an initiative called Encore—a program designed to provide individuals who have quit jobs in finance with a second shot at career and ambition. The program was designed specifically with women in mind. The launch events, first in New York City in November, then in London the following February, featured an update on recent developments in the sector, help in crafting a midcareer narrative, and, most importantly, a broad range of actual job opportunities.
