Throughout these pages, we’ve heard the voices of disenchanted women, tangled with the reasons behind the disenchantment, and showcased a variety of forward-looking companies that have started to make inroads into reinventing the way work is done—giving women (and men) who need alternative work models new opportunities to succeed at work without failing themselves or their families. But the biggest question still remains: what are the prospects for messing with the male competitive model in the larger labor market—over the long haul?
