Closing a Program

When you have finished using a program for the time being, close it. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the File tab to open Backstage view.
  2. Click the Exit item.

NOTE: If any files open in the program you're closing contain unsaved changes, the program prompts you to save them.

Instead of using the File images Exit command to close a program, you can click the Close button at the right end of the title bar to close each open program window in turn. When you close the last window, the program closes too.
