Working on Documents with Your Colleagues

In the Office programs, you can work on documents with your colleagues either together or separately:

  • Work on the same copy of the document simultaneously. If you have a SharePoint site or you store documents on Windows Live SkyDrive, you and your colleagues can store the document on the site, each open it at the same time, and work on it together.
  • Work on the same copy of the document in turn. Instead of coauthoring, you can take turns to open the same copy of the document, make your changes, and then close the document. The Office programs help you by warning you when the document you want is already open and alerting you when the current user stops using it.
  • Work on separate copies of the document. ...
