Chapter 16. Creating Custom Actions

In this chapter you'll create a custom action in Visual Studio 2010 that, once deployed to your SharePoint server, can be used by no-code workflows created with the SharePoint Designer. This demonstrates the flexibility of the tooling options available in Office 2010. You can implement activities with all the power of Visual Studio available to you, including access to the SharePoint object model, which I introduced in Chapter 9. With the technique presented in this chapter, these activities can be packaged into reusable actions that can be employed by power users and other nondevelopment staff.
