Linking Objects

You have different possibilities for linking objects from one application to another. One option uses Copy and Paste Special, a tried-and-true method of quickly linking data (it’s been around nearly as long as the Office applications).

Another possibility takes advantage of the Paste Options gallery, which is available when you select the Paste command in the Clipboard group. Interestingly, a link created by using one of the new Paste Options does create a link to external content but does not create the same kind of link that Paste Special does (we look at the differences in a moment).
