Copying, Moving, and Deleting Cell Contents

We have already discussed how to use the Fill handle to copy data (both labels and values) from one cell to a range of cells (or from a range to a range). You can also use the Copy command in the Clipboard group to copy a cell’s content to another cell. Cell ranges can be copied and then pasted, and a single cell’s content can be pasted to a range of cells. In addition, you can move cell data using cut and paste, or drag and drop cells or cell ranges in new locations on a sheet.

Copy-and-paste and cut-and-paste are pretty familiar to even the most novice Office user, so no quantum physics are involved in selecting a cell and then using Copy or Cut to place it on the Clipboard. The different possibilities ...
