Understanding Excel Charts

Excel charts provide a pictorial representation of worksheet data. Charts not only provide a way for people to better grasp trends or relationships in the worksheet data, but they can also add visual impact to your Excel worksheets. Charts are objects (just like an image or a SmartArt graphic) that can be included anywhere on a worksheet. Charts can also be created so that they reside on their own worksheet in a workbook. This is particularly useful for charts that contain a lot of detail and don’t fit particularly well on a large worksheet that contains the data used to create the chart.
