Working with Views in Outlook

As you work with the different items in Outlook, the Outlook panes provide you with a default view for each item type. For example, Outlook uses the Compact view as the default for mail. Other views for mail can be accessed using the Change View gallery on the Ribbon’s View tab. You can also view your mail using the Single or Preview views. In Compact view, each email’s subject line and first line of the message show in the email list. (By default, only the first line of the message shows, but you can increase the message preview to up to three lines.)
