Chapter 13: Creating a Presentation

Create a New Presentation

From the PowerPoint Start screen or from Backstage view, you can create a new blank presentation or you can search for a presentation template or theme to use as the foundation of your presentation.

Templates contain themes of coordinated colors, fonts, and effects such as shadows, reflections, and glows that make up the design of the slide. See Chapter 14 for more information on themes.

Templates also can contain prompts to help you set up your slides. For example, the slides in a scientific presentation template might contain prompts to include a statement of the problem, a hypothesis, or a list of variables.
