12.2. Creating a Picture Library in SharePoint

Picture libraries in SharePoint can be used to share pictures with other users of your site. A library lets you view, organize, share, and edit common graphics. The ability to create a slide show from a picture library may let you share your pictures with coworkers. However, the most important purpose of a picture library is to supply files for web pages that contain images, icons, or pictures of any sort. To do this, you must first store the picture files in your picture library, where SharePoint web pages can find them.

To create a picture library within your SharePoint site, if you do not already have one, select the Create option from the Site Actions menu. On the Create page, find Picture Library ...
