8.8. Introduction to KPIs
KPIs provide a visual communication tool that shows progress toward a goal. Each item in a KPI list measures one item. Each item has a desired goal value. The list can then show the current value of that item and compare it to the goal. Based on ranges of values defined by the person building the KPI, you can then display a color-coded status icon illustrating how well the current value compares to the desired value.
