4.1. Opening a SharePoint Document from Within Microsoft Office

Beginning from Microsoft Office Word, your first challenge might be how to access SharePoint document libraries from within Word 2007. If the document you want to open exists on a SharePoint site that you previously visited, you may see a reference to that library in your My Network Places folder of Windows Explorer. At least that statement is true if you use Windows XP as your client operating system and you previously visited the site.
