10.1. Publishing InfoPath Forms to a Network File Share

The easiest way to publish your InfoPath forms, and perhaps your only way to publish them if you do not have InfoPath Forms Services running on your SharePoint server, uses a simple network file share. A network file share is any directory on your network that people in your organization can access from their local computers.

Anyone with InfoPath on their local computer can open the published forms and enter data using them. They can then save a copy of their data back to the same directory. Let's see how this works by using one of the forms created in the last chapter, the Request for Absence Report.
