Working with Data Access Pages

Data access page technology is specifically designed to provide Web-based access to data. A data access page is, in fact, a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document that contains HTML codes, HTML intrinsic controls, and ActiveX controls. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 is the preferred browser for use with data access pages. Other Web browsers can display data access pages, but do not permit users to interact directly with the data. Figure 7.3 shows a data access page displayed in Internet Explorer. This page makes use of the Pivot Table control, one of many controls that can be used on data access pages.
