1.2. Wind and Wind Load
The force that atmosphere exerts on a unit area of the Earth's surface is called the atmospheric pressure, or air pressure. Due to the uneven distribution of air pressure in the horizontal direction, the air moves from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas; this air movement is called wind. The reason for the uneven distribution of pressure in the horizontal direction is generally the changes in the air density and the region of air flowing in is greater than the outflow.
