For offshore oil engineering, the main purpose of studying the ocean wave is to analyze the interaction between ocean waves and ocean engineering structure and calculate the wave loads acting on the structure. But we nees to know the rules of the changing of velocity and pressure for all the points in the waves to achieve this goal. Thus, we can determine the distribution of the wave energy of ocean waves and the size of the forces that the waves are putting on the engineering structure. In short, we need to study the calculation of the wave force and wave theory. This section will introduce these topics.
