2.6. Abandoned Wells and Tieback of Offshore Oil and Gas Drilling

After offshore drilling is completed or if the well is not immediately put into production, withdrawing the drilling platform or boat is called abandonment. A well can be for a short time so that a future platform or ship go back to the well mouth again and also can be abandoned for a long period. At a certain stage of the drilling operation, an emergency withdrawal of a drilling platform or boat is called a temporary abandonment. After abandonment, the drilling platform or boat will find the original well again, return to the complete or incomplete the well mouth and put it into operation or continue drilling operations.
