3.18. Offshore Workover Rigs

In order to complete workover operations, workover rigs are needed. A workover rig mainly consists of lifting equipment (winches, derricks, etc.), loop flushing equipment (pumps and manifold systems, etc.), and rotating operation equipment (turntable, etc.). It is similar to an ordinary drilling rig. The operating load is relatively light, so the workover rig’s power and other basic parameters, such as the volume, weight, and so on, are relatively smaller than the drilling rig.
