3.22. Application of Coiled Tubing Technology in Workover Operations
3.22.1. Well Flow through Displacement
Well flow through displacement can use liquid nitrogen or a liquid with a small density (such as diesel, etc.). Well flow through displacement with nitrogen gas is, in fact, gas lift. The nitrogen pumped into the wells by the nitrogen pump mixes with the liquid in the wells, which makes the hydrostatic pressure less than the formation pressure in the wellbore. So well flow can be achieved. In this way, when using this well flow through displacement technique, in addition to the original equipment of the coiled tubing technology, a nitrogen pump, nitrogen tank, high-pressure pipeline, etc., should be added. After the coiled tubing equipment ...
