Abstract

The wind resource assessment process characterizes the atmospheric environment through the application of industry-accepted measurement and modeling techniques. The goal is to address wind farm design and performance issues that arise during the development, construction, and operations phases. These issues relate to site selection, energy production estimation, turbine suitability and array layout, the balance-of-plant design, site accessibility, and other project elements.
