This section outlines the types of equipment that are used in responding to a spill with in situ burning and the steps involved in deploying and operating this equipment. This equipment includes containment booms; other containment and burning equipment; igniters; aircraft and response vessels; treating agents; monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment; and residue recovery equipment. This section is intended to assist response personnel in the proper selection and deployment of equipment for particular response situations.
