Do you remember the days of film—the enormous costs of buying and processing it!—and having prints made? Back in the day, photography was an expensive hobby. Shooting digitally today is a completely different situation; once you have made the initial investment in your gear, you can carry on photographing for years at no additional expense. Unfortunately, photographers love new gadgets, and it is never long before they end up buying a new lens, a better bag, a sniper strap, the latest color filter, or a light modifier of questionable usefulness.
