Chapter 2Using online shares resources
To get the most out of the available online facilities and resources for share investing, you need know what they are. So the first step to becoming a successful online investor is to understand these online resources so you can tap into and use the ones you feel are most appropriate for you.
In this chapter I outline the information and facilities most relevant to online share investing so you'll be in a better position to decide what to use. This chapter summarises the resources available and provides a brief outline of each. Many are discussed in greater detail later in the book.
Resources available online
Online resources are summarised in table 2.1 (overleaf). The list is not exhaustive, but it includes the most important resources and facilities you may wish to access.
General information
Many websites provide general information about shares, share investing and share trading. International sites often contain useful information and facilities, but it's generally best to access Australian sites as these focus more on our market and the facilities available to Australian investors.
