Not all of the hundreds of millions of Internet users in the world are going to be interested in your Web site or newsletter, so get those big numbers out of your head and focus strictly on the people who are valuable to you as site visitors or newsletter subscribers. Concentrate all your promotion efforts on them, and them alone.

Depending on your business, you may have a target audience of anywhere from a few hundred up into the millions. Your job is to reach that audience, not the rest of the Internet. The most obvious and basic way to do this is to make sure your site is correctly listed in appropriate Internet search engines and directories.
