Abstract
The mechanics of friendship in online social networking have been completely transformed by the cybersecurity principles known as Zero Trust. Traditional ideas of security and trust in digital relationships are called into question by these principles. The article examines the difficulties of the “Zero Trust” age as well as the dynamics of friendships developed via Online Social Networking (OSN) platforms. It looks at the dangers present in placing confidence on digital platforms as well as the trust in virtual friendships, including identity theft, cyberbullying, and privacy violations. The Indian Information Technology Act (IT Act) and other government laws play a significant role in managing and mitigating cyber dangers inside OSNs, as the report also covers. It examines laws that are designed to protect users’ privacy, defend the digital sphere, and stop cybercrimes. The effectiveness of the IT Act in fostering a safe online community is assessed, and the study considers how cyberthreats are always changing and how laws must be updated accordingly. The article provides a thorough investigation.
