Internet Service Providers

An ISP is a company that provides access to the Internet. There are numerous different companies that do this. The most well known national and international services are AOL, EarthLink, and Juno (although AOL is technically an online service provider because it has independent content that you cannot find on the general Internet, as well as other proprietary services). Regional ISPs include AT&T, WorldNet, IBM Global Network, MCI, Netcom, UUNet, and PSINet. There are thousands of local providers.
