Security Is a Process
The moral of this story is that security is not an item on a checklist. You can't just say, “Well, I'm glad my new computer comes with Security. Now I can relax.”
Security is a process; it never ends. You must always keep your security products upgraded and software patched, and adjust to new conditions. Consider the security ramifications of everything. Want a new peer-to-peer application to share MP3s? Just be aware that you'll have to punch a hole (i.e., open a port) through your firewall to use it. Want to access your home PC from work?
