There are some various views published on the Web about when and what was the first blog on the Web. Rebecca Blood's history notes that Jorn Barger created the term in late 1997, and in 1999 only 23 blogs were in existence. (Although she doesn't cite an individual pioneer or first blog.) The citations are two blog-tracking Web sites (www.jjig.net/portal/tpoowl.html and the Eatonweb Portal http://portal.eatonweb.com). But for such a small amount of history, there appears to be much confusion over its real beginnings.
