Remote Access VPNs

Many businesses and organizations have turned to VPNs for connecting remote workers to a corporate network. Internet protocol (IP) VPNs are now a multibillion-dollar-a-year industry, and more providers are entering the arena every year. Because of their complexity, however, individuals do not generally install a VPN for remote access. VPNs can be found from smaller businesses all the way up to large, multinational enterprises with thousands of users. As a testament to the usual scale of a VPN, the larger the enterprise, the greater the chance that a VPN is in place for remote access.
