Current-feedback op amps are a variation of op amps primarily used at high speeds to break the limitation imposed by the single dominant pole in voltage-feedback amplifiers (VFAs). The same simplified gain equations apply to current-feedback amplifiers (CFAs) that apply to VFAs. There are some limitations imposed on designers by current-feedback amplifiers, chief of which are that the feedback resistor value is specified by the manufacturer and is essential to stability, and there can be no capacitor in the feedback loop of the CFA.
