Chapter 14

Interfacing a Transducer to an Analog to Digital Converter

Abstract

A common application of an op amp circuit is interfacing it to an analog to digital converter. Selecting the right circuit configuration requires a thorough understanding of the problem. Broad system considerations, power supply limitations, characteristics of the input signal, characteristics of the analog to digital converter, even characteristics of the op amp itself all have to be considered before an interface op amp can be selected.
