GOVERNMENT OPEN DATA HAS THE POTENTIAL TO INCREASE public knowledge, empower citizens, and build American businesses. In recent years, business innovation has been a major driver for the federal government’s Open Data initiatives. The U.S. government may turn out to be the largest single source of free Open Data in the world.
