Sensitivity Analysis
Operations managers are usually interested in more than the optimal solution to an LP problem. In addition to knowing the value of each decision variable (the Xis) and the value of the objective function, they want to know how sensitive these answers are to input parameter changes. For example, what happens if the coefficients of the objective function are not exact, or if they change by 10% or 15%? What happens if the right-hand-side values of the constraints change? Because solutions are based on the assumption that input parameters are constant, the subject of sensitivity analysis comes into play. Sensitivity analysis, or postoptimality analysis, is the study of how sensitive solutions are to parameter changes.
