The P-NNI hierarchy, addressing, and peer group identification were discussed in Chapter 5. In the following, we look at P-NNI signaling features and their adaptation for signaling in optical networks. The peer group hierarchy depicted in Figure 5-15 is useful for the discussion below and hence it is reproduced as Figure 7-38.
