SDH Circuit Provisioning
Provisioning an SNCP, MS-SPRing, linear ADM, or ESNCP mesh network is not complete without assigning circuits for transport of user traffic. This section explains how to create and administer various types of Cisco ONS 15454 SDH circuits and tunnels. DCC tunnels can also be created to tunnel third-party equipment signaling through ONS 15454 SDH networks. Cross-connects are the connections that occur within a single ONS 15454 SDH that allow a circuit to enter on one port and exit on another, whereas the term circuit refers to the series of connections from a traffic source (where traffic ingresses the ONS network) to the drop or destination (where traffic egresses an ONS network).
