Chapter 14. Network Virtualization
Network Virtualization is a new feature of Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 that provides the concept of a virtual network that is independent of the underlying physical network. Network Virtualization does this by providing virtual networks to virtual machines similar to how server virtualization (hypervisor) provides virtual machines to the operating system.
Network Virtualization decouples virtual networks from the physical network infrastructure and removes the constraints of VLAN and hierarchical IP address assignment from virtual machine provisioning.
