American style options A type of option contract that allows the holder to exercise the option at any time up to and including the day of expiry.

ask price The price quoted on the ASX as the price at which a seller is offering to sell a security or derivative.

assignment The allocation by ASX Clear of exercise of a specific option to a randomly selected seller of the same type of option.

at-the-money options Options whereby the market value of the underlying stock is the same as the strike price of the option.

auto-exercise An option your broker may offer whereby any in-the-money options you hold with be automatically exercised on expiry.
