Liquid crystals infiltrated photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) for electromagnetic field sensing

Abstract

The chapter discusses the latest developments in the field of photonic liquid crystal fibers (PLCFs) in view of their uses for electromagnetic field sensing. An overview of liquid crystals infiltrated microstructured optical fibers is presented and select issues related to electric field sensing with PLCFs are discussed.
