Accessing web tier values from business components

Rich enterprise applications that we deal with today call for extensive interactions between client and server layers. Oracle ADF is designed keeping this point in mind. When you work on a business application, you may find many use cases on initializing business components (business service layer) with values from the web tier, such as the logged in user's locale and city.
