Out of the box, OracleAS Portal does not require any administration. If you wanted to, you could run OracleAS Portal with all of its default settings and have a perfectly usable portal environment for your developers and end users. But that’s like saying you could install an Oracle database, not perform any administration on it, and start using it. Technically, it is possible to do this, but it wouldn’t be very smart.
