In this section, we will cover the types of MSP. Broadly speaking, there are three—network MSP, channel MSP, and local MSP:
- Network MSP: An MSP at the network level is used to define the blockchain network that is authorized to perform administrative tasks at the network level, such as maintaining networks and creating channels:

- Duties: Administrative activities, such as defining channels
- Channel MSP: A channel (also known as a global) MSP is defined in the channel configuration. However, each node has a local copy of the channel/global MSP, which is kept in sync by consensus.
