In Chapter 4, which addressed Step 1 of the Build and View Analysis window, I described column filters and how you can use them to limit the data in the report. The problem with using column filters is that not every user wants the exact same report with the exact same data. Users have no control over filters placed directly on the columns.
With filter prompts, you can put the decision in the users' hands about what data should or should not appear in the report. In this chapter, I explain how to add filter prompts to your reports and configure the prompts to maximize control and efficiency.
