Appendix E. POSIX File Functions
The POSIX library works on compliant versions of the Unix operating system, such as Red Hat Linux Advanced Server 3/4. It provides additional views into physical information about files, directories, and processes. It does present information that can expose what should be secure information to unauthorized users, like hackers. You should take appropriate precautions to secure data when you enable this library.
Table E-1 lists the POSIX functions, summaries of their behaviors, and prototypes for the functions.
