Oracle AWR Report
AWR is Oracle’s mechanism for gathering and preserving statistics useful for performance analysis. Oracle 10g introduced a new background process, MMON (Manageability Monitor), to do this work. Every 15 minutes, it takes a snapshot of statistics needed for performance tuning and diagnostics. Snapshots older than one week are automatically purged. Snapshot data is stored in a set of tables in the SYSAUX tablespace; these tables are owned by SYS. AWR is fully Oracle RAC aware and is active by default on all the instances. One of the MMON processes acts as the master and coordinates snapshots on all the active instances.
