Transparent Application Failover
Transparent Application Failover (TAF) enables an application user to reconnect to a database automatically if a connection fails. Active transactions roll back, but the new database connection, achieved using a different node, is identical to the original node. This is true regardless of how the connection fails.
TAF notifications are used by the server to trigger TAF callbacks on the client side. TAF is configured using either a client-side-specified Transparent Network Substrate (TNS) connect string or using server-side service attributes.
